August 1
The day before, I spent many hours baking to create this:
Mini-cupcakes on their side with white cake batter on top to get a polka-dot cake.
I made felt booties and roses to pin on the sides or her clothes
as well as burp cloths.
Barbara asked me to make a banner. So I made one out of fabric. It didn't even dawn on me that I could make it out of paper until after I finished. Lots of burned fingers and little threads from cutting... Yep I'm pregnant and quite smart.
Random excitement: our grass is green again!!!
In the morning I drove by myself (hopefully with the cake intact) to Nate's grandparents house in Layton to help set up.
The cake kind of made it intact. I had to give it some TLC. Barbara introduced everybody and then we dove into the food. Emily made a great fruit salad and Barbara brought some gourmet cupcakes that were DELISH! After the food, Kim opened her awesome gifts.
I love this lovely lady! She's going to be a great mom to Juliet. :)
