Next Week

January 2nd
Nate and I got some new shelves for our living room. We love them!!
We also found out that Nate got a 4.0 from the previous semester! I am so proud of him! He has really been working hard to finish up his Bachelor's degree. :) I love you, Naters!

January 5th
We decided to go shooting with the Dunbars. I tried to dress warm this time round, but I forgot about my feet--they got cold pretty quick without some thick, warm socks. Mallory wanted to try out her new pistol that she got for Christmas and Nate wanted to try his Grandpa's gun.
The snow was all crystalized and looked really cool.
Nate's gun was pretty sweet. It didn't hit your shoulder on the release of the trigger. It's a fun gun. They don't make the bullets anymore, but I guess as long as you hold onto the shells, you can use a different bullet to create the same outcome.
Do you see how big they are?
After awhile, Mallory and I couldn't feel our toes so we hopped in their car to talk and warm them up. Nate, Jarom and Randall continued to shoot the pistols, rifle and shotgun at the frozen blue water jugs. When we got out of the car, it wasn't long before we headed back to civilization.
Our car got stuck on the snow, so we had to give it a little push. Other than that little dilemma, we made it back safely to Vernal.

New Year's Day

January 1st
Mike and Jess left for Salt Lake around 12:30 pm, but before then, amongst the hustle and bustle of packing things up, Chloe continued to carry the Batman Bear around.
She had cupcake and spaghetti for breakfast,
was fascinated with the Uncle Nate's sweeping,
and enjoyed walking around with my phone as her daddy tied her balloon around her bum.
She was hysterical!
We put the santa hat on her and she looked like she was about to break into song.
We loved having the Beaches over and can't wait to see them again.
After they left, Nate and I went over to Anna's house (co-worker) for lunch with her family. It was really fun and Anna's house is gorgeous! Nate seemed to have a good conversation with Jed while the girlies talked about Vanessa's upcoming wedding. :)
We had to leave around 6 because Nate had to work for a few hours. When we got home, I took our gift certificate from the school district and did some grocery shopping at Jubilee's.
It was a great day! We start school tomorrow and I just hope I am ready. My vacation didn't seem long enough. Until next time!

Weekend with the Beaches

December 29
We woke up and Nate made crepes from scratch! We hung out for a few hours--boys watched sports, made a DI run, while Jess and I watched Rio in our sherpa fleece blankets. When the boys got back, we ate lunch, played Settlers of Catan and then we went to dinner in Naples at the country diner. No other customers were there, but we didn't mind.

Funny little Chloe enjoying her food
When we got back, the boys played football on the Xbox while Jess and I browsed through Pinterest. Later we played Whoonu, Imaginiff and then went to bed soon after midnight.
The next day, we went to church, ate dinner, hung around and started our Batman Trilogy.

December 31st
We hung around in the morning and didn't really do anything until about 3:00pm. We had hoped to go to the Dinosaur museum, but they were closed for New Year's--random! We drove to Roosevelt early. Mike and Jess's niece Kailee had a birthday party in Roosevelt. They had a pizza party at Pizza Hut and then we went back to their house for cupcakes and presents.

Kailee was really cute.  time. We had a great time. As it got to be later, we left for Vernal. We finished our Batman trilogy and Chloe soon became really attached to my Batman bear (without the mask, otherwise she was terrified).

We put babykins to bed and then continued to watch the rest of the Batman Trilogy. We paused it for our midnight New Year's kiss.

Time in Limbo

December 27

I woke up worked on my mom's quilt some more, cleaned the second bedroom in preparation for relatives at the end of  the week and wrote most of my lesson plans. Nate worked a little longer than usual, but it was for a good cause. Later that night, we watched one of our new Blu rays, King Arthur, together. I love this movie! We were about half way through when... the power went out!
In the hour and a half that there was randomly no power, I read part of a book to Nate, took a nap and then  we went for a drive. Of course as soon as we got onto the road, we saw all of the power come back on.

December 28
Nate had to work in the morning again, so I went to the school to clean and organize my classroom. I got most of it ready for the following week, but I still feel it is a mess. Around 6ish, Mike and Jess showed up. They are going to spend New Year's with us. We ate pizza and salad and played a game of fluxx and nerf guns. Then we decided to hit the hay soon after and had M & J sleep in our bed--memory foam is just that awesome!!!

Christmas Eve & Christmas

December 24
We got to Deweyville ahead of the storm. We hung out with his family for awhile, did some Christmas shopping in Logan (super fun!), had some dinner and watched White Christmas with some Rootbeer floats before getting ready for bed. Nate and I decided to watch Brave in our bed since we had never seen it before. Around 11:30, we heard a knock on the door and we were told to come out and say hi. Jake and Kim had made it safely here from Utah County. I got to say it kind of hurts to go from a pitch dark (except for the movie) to a well-lit room really quickly. We said hello and chatted for awhile before I had to turn in, my body was shutting down.

December 25
CHRISTMAS IS HERE!
We awoke the following morning kinda early to open gifts with the fam before part of them had to get on the road to head toward Cali.
I was surprised to find that Warburtons have their assigned places for Christmas morning and it stays that way throughout the years. I thought it was interesting. :) Gifts had already been sorted in those places when we walked into the room. Each of us took turns in rotation opening a gift from our stash. We got a Willowtree nativity scene from his mom (so excited to set them up next year!) and Nate gave Jake a football and red dot sight for a shotgun--he was pretty happy about it. Ash gave us some shirts and scarves from New York. It was a good morning, topped off with Barbara's breakfast casserole.
We hung around for a couple hours after Jake, Kim and Sara left. Then Brittney and Seth showed up and the rest of us headed down to Emily's to open other gifts and dinner.
I did my hair all fancy!
It was real fun to watch the kids open up their presents from Grandma and Grandpa.
Later that evening, we watched White Christmas with his parents and sister at their house. It's fun watching the classics.

December 26
We woke the following morning and saw our car lathered in snow.
Nate had to work in Logan for a little bit. In the meantime, the girls all got ready and left for Brigham City to watch Les Miserables while the men watched the kiddos. For a movie, it was pretty good. I still like the play a lot more, but it was a good production. On the way back to Larry and Barbara's we stopped at Walmart. Nate packed up the car and we left for Vernal soon after to beat the weather. It was a long drive back.

So Far Behind!!!

Since the last post was at the end of December and now we are closing in on the last day of March, it's high time, I get bloggin'. The winter months have been super crazy with my students' testing, lesson planning, party planning, getting ready for holidays, etc. So on this Sunday morning, while we wait for the time to go to church (1:00 pm), I decided it would be a good time to attempt to catch up... Let's see how far I can get!
