Day 2: Sunday Fun!

December 23
**PICTURE WARNING**
It was a slow moving morning... But we did get up eventually. Earlier in the month we drew names for Secret Santa and now was the time for the revealing. I had Chloe and got her books. She loved (still loves) them! Nate and I considered this our 3rd Christmas--you can really never have enough!
There was the boy couch and then the girl couch... it honestly wasn't planned that way.
Nate had Dani and gave her the Game of Things. Nate received a tool set from Mike and I got a cute red sweater from Jess with earrings to match. We then proceeded to the elephant gifts and took turns choosing one of my dad's secret gifts.

This is what Dani wore for most of the day. Red Panda suit! It is really warm.
We got my dad some gloves. I'm hoping they fit because it's really hard to find ones that do!!
We went to church, came home, ate dinner and then it was on to gingerbread houses! We had to pull the boys away from their new helicopter toys. Later that evening, my brother accidentally crashed it into my foot and cut my toe. It really hurt!

Gingerbread creating adventure:

Their masterpiece:
Lol. They called it Moordor from Lord of the Rings.
This was ours. We learned that the gingerbread is supposed to dryout a little before the actual building can begin. So ours...started to cave and lean a little. And that it may be a good idea to square the corner AFTER  they have been baked.
We finished up the night b watching Christmas with the Kranks, an okay movie but oh well.

The following morning, Nate and I packed up our stuff and headed north to hang out with Nate's side of the family.

Day 1 with the Beach's

December 22
We started the morning off by eating at IHOP with most of the fam, including my mom (Dani had to work and we missed her). It was a great breakfast. Even more entertaining was my niece who took out the fruit from the bowl and then put it back in and then out.

Jess had an awesome shirt!
After IHOP, Jess and I went to Joann's to get some items and then to Ream's for the gingerbread candy. When we got back, Nate went with the guys (Boomer had to work) to the DI (go figure: dream store) and Scheels. Meanwhile, Jess and I hung out and talked. I cut out the pieces to make the houses. We barely had enough to make two large houses and a small one. The gingerbread tasted pretty good.
When the guys got back, the couples went to Famous Dave's to meet up with my aunt, uncle and cousin with his new wife. It was a lot of fun. I've never seen my uncle so animated before.
 Cheese-face!
 The food was delicious!!

These two had quite the staring conversation with food. It was hilarious. Nate let her have a sip of his lemonade and it took awhile before Chloe gave it up. She kept guzzling it down.

See? Hilarious!!!
I think this was her first time with an oreo. She eventually got it on her upper lip for a Hitler mustache. Chloe is too darn cute!

The group!
After dinner, we decided to watch It's a Wonderful Life. I love our little family traditions.

2nd Christmas

December 21

We woke up in the morning and had our 2nd Christmas. We opened our gifts to each other since we would be with our families over the actual holiday.
We took turns opening our gifts. Nate got the 4th season of Seinfield and I got King Arthur on Blu Ray (I love this movie)
I got him handball gear and Fable II--he loved it!

And Nate got me an Aggies sweatshirt--pretty excited to wear it!
All in all, it was a great 'Christmas' morn together.
My dad bought us a portable dishwasher. Nate's got pretty excited, since now he doesn't have to wash them by hand as much. ;)

Afterward, I spent time blogging while Nate was at work. When he got off around 12:30, we pulled our stuff together and went to Salt Lake to visit my family. Later that night I made gingerbread dough for our new tradition of making gingerbread houses. It was a good day.

1st Grade Christmas

Dec 20
We've been celebrating Christmas all week...
We had the Grinch visit the school and tell us his story

I ran into the school to grab something and found this on my windshield when I came out
(Thanks Jette Lynn)
We read and watched the movie Polar Express
We made ornaments: Snowman, Noodle Wreaths, Beaded Candycanes, and Foam pets
And yesterday I was bombarded with all sorts of gifts. My desk was covered. It was like a wall was built on my desk.
Later that night, Nate caught me opening all of my gifts from my students. They are really cute!
