Tania's Visit

July 20 - July 23
Tania came up Friday night. Before Tania came up, I was able to finish the face of one of the dresser drawers. Getting the tape to line up correctly was trippy.

 Ta-da!
Nate and I were just getting back from a date when Tania showed up. We stayed up for a little while longer before hitting the hay.
The following morning, Nate had to work. Tania and I decided to try to find Moonshine Arch to go hiking. I tried to find it with the GPS on my phone (never been there before) and we got lost. Later we learned that we had passed the turn 2-3 times. We turned off this road behind Steinaker and got stuck in a random mud pit. It was really sunny outside; very few clouds in sight.

I tried to call neighbors in from our ward with little to no luck. Tania tried to find sticks, bones, and rods to stick underneath the tires for leverage. You couldn't see our car from the road, but you could see the road from our car (large sagebrush in the way). I was ordered to stay in the car and don't try to help find said objects. After a few calls, I was finally able to get ahold of Nate's home teaching companion. Unfortunately, he was about an hour and a half away with his family. I tried calling the Dunbars again and finally got through. Thankfully, they were heading in that direction anyway and were able to help us out. Randall used a tow rope to pull us just enough to give us the umph to back up and turn around. We are soo thankful!

The mud pit.
Several hours after our initial attempt to go hiking, we were free from the mud and at the grocery store. We were quite literally almost gone for the entire time Nate was working at Mt. America. Crazy, right? We picked up some Subway for lunch and headed back to the apartment.

Tania used our neighbor's hose to clean off her car. We got most of the mud off.
For the rest of the afternoon, we relaxed from the day in the sun and watched a movie.
The next day, Nate and I went to church and then had steak for dinner (Tania's idea). Nate and Tania seared some mushrooms and onions with their steak. I was good with just the way it was. I made the sides. Tania and I spent the rest of the night talking about life while Nate did some work for his UK2 job. On Monday, we spent the day relaxing and doing whatever. I helped Tania make a 1920's hair piece and I made some pictures for the nursery.

Later that night, I had Nate pick up some Chinese food for dinner--DELICIOUS!
The following morning, Tania got ready to head back home. It was sad to see her leave. We had such a great time together! I'll miss her when she leaves the state for her Air Force duties.
I'm 23 weeks along!
