Freedom FIRE!

July 3
Every year, Logan puts on a great firework show with a featured band and everything. Our friends, Aaron and Kenzie, invited us to go with them. There were a lot of people attending and it was still pretty warm. We sat on the south side of the football stadium.

I was starving, so Nate got us a couple hotdogs.
Leading up the performance of the rock band from the late 70's, Kansas, there were a bunch of other performances such as: local band-Mile Marker 6, some dance company (which was interesting since they were doing the cha-cha to a non-cha cha song; it bugged me...),
another dance group that did the Irish clogging thing,
a large group of scouts and a group vocal group of all ages. They danced with the flag and at one point brought out men and women who had recently returned home from their military stations. It was touching. Then they played the theme songs for all of the different military factions: army, marines, navy, coastguard and air force. I thought of my mom and how if she was there she would've stood proudly during the air force song.

 Kenz, Aaron, Nate and myself
Later, Kansas came out an played some tunes including Dust in the Wind and Carry On. These guys are now in their 60's and I'm kept trying to picture what they looked like before the drugs, alcohol and age.

After they finished, Sara and Jake showed up and it was time for the firework show! I'm pretty sure it was the best show I've ever seen!!! Not sure anyone can top it.

 Explosion of Color!

After the show, Nate and I decided to walk home. It was so much fun this year to be with friends at the stadium for the concert. I'm hoping the show next year is even better!!
Happy 4th of July!
