Chillaxin'

May 25
Friday morning, Nate and I slept in quite late. When we did get up, we watched Apollo 13 until about 2:15. Only then did we actually start our day, but hey we're on vacation, it's legal. :)
We got dressed and ready to head to the beach. Using the GPS navigation on Nate's phone, we drove to the lookout for the Golden Gate Bridge. It was beautiful!
 Pacific Ocean

Did I mention it was SUPER windy? After trying and failing to get a good shot on our own, a man walked by and was happy to take our picture for us.
Golden Gate Bridge
We then drove a half mile down the street to the beach.

Putting his feet in the water
The water is pretty cold in San Francisco, so we didn't go swimming. Just walked along the coast, feeling the sand between our toes. It was cool to see out toward the Pacific Ocean with nothing but ocean before you as far as the eye could see.
 Kissing! See the heart?
With our stomachs getting ornery, we went to Pier 39 on Fisherman's Wharf for some grub. We ate at Bubba Gump Shrimp. Now...you might be thinking of the movie Forrest Gump from that title and you are 100% correct.
This restaurant is themed with that movie in every aspect! Jenny, Bubba and Forrest names are in the menu, they have quotes from the movie written on every table, there's a ping pong paddle with the alcoholic drinks listed on it, etc. And they sell seafood...which is SUPER delicious!

These license plates say "Run, Forrest Run" and "Stop, Forrest Stop" to signal waiters when you need something. It's awesome! Later, the waiter came by and asked us some trivia questions from the movie. We scored 5 out of 5! YES!
We saw a sailboat in passing from our seats and a sea lion. Alcatraz is in the back left. 2,020 miles away from the shore!
I had never had lobster before, now I know why everyone likes it. It's SOO GOOD!!!!!
Nate got a dish called Shrimp's Heaven, including 4-5 different kinds of shrimp with fries.
After being completely full, Nate and I decided to walk around the pier, checking out the different shops.

I love this pier with all of it's little shops and tourist attractions. The best part is....
 SEA LIONS!!!
These sea lions get up on these floating docks to sleep and be lazy. They're like the dogs of the sea. They can scratch their heads with their back flippers much like a dog scratches his ear.

Around 8 or 9, Nate started getting tired so we drove back to Hercules for some couch time with the TV and ice cream.
